The pianist

The Greek pianist Athina Bardakou was born in Athens and currently lives in Stuttgart. She began playing the piano at the age of four and graduated from the Pallini Music High School. She received her musical education at the Athens Conservatory, where she graduated in 2021 with top marks in the class of Prof. Natalia Michailidou. At the same time, she deepened her interest in musicology by studying at the University of Athens.

Since 2021 she has been studying with Prof. Moritz Winkelmann, first at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts and since 2024 at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts. She received important artistic impulses from Enrico Pace and Arash Rokni, master classes with David Lively, Kirill Kozlowski, Philippe Giusiano, Christopher Park, Irene Russo, as well as in the Lied area from Axel Bauni and Thomas Seyboldt.

Their aim is to make music a tangible connection between people. When making music, her focus is on listening, reacting and musical dialog.

Athina Bardakou is a prizewinner of the 6th Thessaloniki Piano Festival Competition (2025) and performs in Greece, Italy and Germany, including at Stuttgart City Hall, Landesmuseum Württemberg, Wilhelm Hack Museum, Ernst Bloch Center, Megaro Mousikis Thessaloniki and Athens Megaron Concert Hall and at festivals such as Heidelberg Chamber Music Festival, International Stretto Piano Festival (with the SIRIUS 6.0 keyboard) and "Le Notti Musicali" in Cagliari. She has participated in projects with the Westallgäu Chamber Orchestra and the Württembergisches Allgäu City Orchestra. Her passion for chamber music was recognized in 2019 when she won the chamber music competition at the Athens Gardens Festival, together with her Opus Day Trio. She is a scholarship holder of the DAAD and Live Music Now Rhein-Neckar E. V.
