Julian Kim

Julian Kim's exceptional pianistic talent and artistic dedication have earned him numerous awards at international piano competitions. He won first prizes at the Orbetello International Piano Competition and the "Città di Barletta" International Piano Competition in Italy. He has also been awarded second prizes at the Juliusz Zarębski International Piano Competition in Poland, the Paul Badura-Skoda International Piano Competition in Vienna, the "Città di San Donà di Piave" International Piano Competition, the Ischia International Piano Competition and the "Città di Sarzana" International Piano Competition in Italy.
Julian Kim has been a finalist or semi-finalist in numerous prestigious competitions, including the Pietro Argento International Piano Competition, the Verona International Piano Competition, the Neapolitan International Piano Competition, the George Gershwin International Piano Competition, the Seattle International Piano Competition, the Ricard-Viñes International Piano Competition and the Campillos International Piano Competition.
Julian Kim's artistic career has taken him to some of the most important concert halls in the world. In Europe, he has performed in venues such as the Ehrbar Saal (C. Bechstein) in Vienna, the Palais Lichtenau in Potsdam and the Teatro Jofre in Ferrol, Spain. In Italy, he has performed at the Teatro Bellini in Catania, the Teatro G. Rossini in Pesaro, the Villa Sandra Saal in Milan, the E. F. Dall'Abaco and the Nuovo Auditorium Montemezzi in Verona.
In Norway, he has performed at the Kabuso Art Center and the historic Troldhaugen Concert Hall in Bergen. In the Netherlands, he has performed in the Lutherse Kerk in Haarlem, the Remonstrants Kerk in Alkmaar, the Slotzaal in Schagen and the Ruïnekerk in Bergen. In Finland, he has performed in the Mäntän Klubi Hall in Mänttä.
In North America, Julian Kim has performed in prestigious venues such as the Piano House, Steinway Hall, Loewe Theatre and Opera America Hall in New York City and the Gateway Theatre in Vancouver, Canada.

In 2024, Julian Kim signed an exclusive contract with Hänssler Classic, one of the leading classical music labels. His upcoming album with a selection of Beethoven's piano sonatas will be released on this renowned label with the generous support of C. Bechstein and Bärenreiter. The recording has already been highly praised by major magazines such as Gramophone, Scherzo, Pizzicato, American Record Guide, InterludeHK and Clic Musique. Julian Kim was also a featured artist on the SRF (Swiss Radio and Television) program Concerto, which was dedicated to his second Beethoven sonata album. The same album was also presented on Antena 2 (Rádio e Televisão de Portugal) and on NDR Kultur's New CDs program, reaching a wide European audience.
In 2025, Julian Kim signed a contract with the Dutch label Challenge Records for a complete recording of the piano works of Johannes Brahms. The project comprises six albums, which will be released annually from 2026. As an official ambassador for Bärenreiter, he is realizing the project in close collaboration with the publisher; accompanying concert tours in Europe and the USA are also planned.
Julian Kim is a C. Bechstein Artist and Bärenreiter ambassador.
