Piano cabaret by and with Stephan Eisel
The young Beethoven in Bonn. The Beethoven image is set straight:
"Our Ludwig is smiling!"
Ludwig van Beethoven lived and worked in Bonn for 22 years - longer than Mozart in Salzburg. He was not the grim composer burdened by fate that he is often portrayed as, but was above all a very cheerful contemporary. A true Rhinelander. Babette, Jeanette, Anna and Lorchen turned his head, and he also composed important Rhenish carnival songs.
Stephan Eisel, to whom we owe thick books and slim brochures on Beethoven's life and work, on the 'Ninth' and on Bonn's contribution to Beethoven's success, knows this thanks to intensive research. The former member of the Bundestag in Bonn and currently extremely active chairman of the Bonn cultural association "Citizens for Beethoven" is not only a researcher and writer, but also a highly entertaining - almost cabaret-like - storyteller, singer and virtuoso pianist.
We can expect surprising insights into Ludwig's first 22 years in Bonn and finger exercises on 88 keys between pop, jazz and classical music.
