There has been an artistic exchange between Dortmund and Buffalo, New York, for almost half a century - reason enough to celebrate the transatlantic relationship with an event at Dortmunder U.
The focus will be on Fluxus, intermedia and the Buffalo-born artists Andrew Topolski and Cindy Suffoletto. Reading, film, performance and music combine to create a live composition on this evening.
Author and filmmaker Aidan Ryan will read from his book "I Am Here You Are Not I Love You", talk about its connection to Dortmund and the Museum Ostwall and show his documentary film accompanying the book. The spirit of Fluxus and the exchange between Dortmund and Buffalo will be carried forward with a participatory language play by poet Rachelle Toarmino and a concert by musicians from Dortmund, including a composition by Topolski.
The event is organized by Aidan Ryan, Rachelle Toarmino, Bunt oder Blau and the Museum Ostwall at Dortmunder U.
Due to limited space, please register by e-mail to kleinerfreitag@stadtdo.de. Participation in the event is free of charge.
The "Kleiner Freitag" takes place every Thursday from 7 pm at different locations in and around the Dortmunder U.
Hereby the anticipation of the (almost) weekend is guaranteed!
