We had the pleasure of meeting Josy Basar at the Haldern Pop Festival this summer. The audience there was so carried away by his performance that he had to perform three times that weekend so that the dance-crazed mob wouldn't cause any more problems. After a few wistful thoughts about the journey home, we asked him on the spot if he would like to come to Düsseldorf for a concert at the Nilsson at some point. What can I say: it worked out and we are looking forward to an evening of his extremely danceable, playful and melancholy form of electronic pop music. Josy Basar has a whole range of electronic equipment on stage, but jumps around tweaking the controls as if he were part of the audience. Kraftwerk would never do this. This guy is fit!

Moon Junior
post emo | Cologne-Kalk/Tkaronto (CAN)

Our friend and fellow Klemme Fatale member Nique (drummer for Attention! Angles Morts and Veto Noir) brought Moon Junior's music to our attention. (Thanks to both of them at this point!) Sue, originally from Tkaronto, Canada, is a Cologne resident by choice, tattoos Cologne hipsters by day (on a positive note) and also plays in the post-hardcore band Between Bodies alongside her solo project Moon Junior. The trade press(Ox-Fanzine, issue #166) has already discussed them as possible saviors of the emo due to the anthemic power of their songs. Balancing athlete Moon Junior , on the other hand, builds quiet, sparsely instrumented vignettes (i.e. short songs that suddenly stop) and she manages to leave the audience speechless with other methods:"Sometimes it sort of feels like Im tricking the audience into breathwork if the space is small enough and I can play without a pa." Anyone who wants to be tricked should definitely come to our concert evening at the small but beautiful Nilsson and see Moon Junior.
