Every year, the Japanese drum virtuosos of the Kodo group leave their secluded island of Sado to vibrate the concert halls of Asia, the USA and Europe on their legendary tours. Deeply rooted in the ancient taiko drumming tradition, their rousing language is understood everywhere. Because Kodo is rhythm, power and energy.

The legendary Japanese drum ensemble is breathtakingly fast and skillful, stunningly virtuosic and precise, amazingly melodic - and extremely athletic. The members of the troupe have mastered an art that is as old and fascinating as traditional Japanese swordsmanship or the art of archery. With muscle-bound arms, the devil drummers make their huge tree drums vibrate, roar and rage, creating a sound that inexorably makes its way. A thoroughly sensual and physical experience that is transferred to the audience, inviting them to marvel and dream.

The ensemble will be back in Munich in February - with their current program "Luminance".
