KONO ATARI NO DOKOKA (SOMEWHERE AROUND HERE)

In the organizer's words:

A performance by Michikazu Matsune (Vienna) and Martine Pisani (Paris)

What remains of dance when the show is over? A question posed by French choreographer Martine Pisani and Japanese-Austrian performance maker Michikazu Matsune. The two met almost 20 years ago and have a close artistic relationship. They will be joined by Dutch painter and performer Theo Kooijman.
Together, they will embark on a journey through time and space using archives, video recordings, personal stories, shared anecdotes and imaginations. "Kono atari no dokoka (Somewhere around here)" is a place that is simultaneously far away and yet so close, with blurred but familiar contours. From a beach in Kobe to the port of Marseille, from Paris to Vienna, the protagonists trace their paths in the 1980s and 1990s, with Pisani's biography and early work taking center stage.
With wonderfully simple poetry, humor and, above all, tenderness, the three artists reconstruct what remains of the past into a connected present.

"Lots of applause for this dramaturgically well-constructed, informative and also important evening, which (...) lingers at home. (tanznetz)

"The space-time journey of the three performers (...) blurs boundaries, reduces distances, superimposes epochs and combines languages (...) of the eternal present of fantasy." (Le Monde)
