Konstellationen

In the organizer's words:

In astronomy, the term constellation describes the position of celestial bodies in relation to each other, as seen from the earth. This concept can be applied to works of art in general or to ballets in particular, and so a kind of expedition is undertaken in the ballet evening Constellations. It explores how five or six shorter ballets or excerpts from ballets relate to each other when they are deliberately placed next to each other. Laurent Hilaire has selected pieces for Konstellationen whose choreographers have a special connection to the Staatsballett's repertoire or whose works have already been shown in Munich. The ballet evening will be complemented by a new creation by Simon Adamson-De Luca, who was a member of the Bavarian Junior Ballet Munich in the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons and introduced himself as a choreographer to the Munich audience at the Heinz Bosl Foundation's Autumn Matinee 2024 with Return to Innocence. He was awarded the Heinz-Bosl Prize for his work at the 2025 Autumn Matinee. In this respect, the Munich audience can look forward to a reunion with both old and fleeting acquaintances - and even to an encounter with something completely new. The aim is to be able to see and hear a new network of relationships through the selected works and parts of works.
