Kontur Weg – Eine Hommage. Stefan Streich 65 // ensemble mosaik

Portrait concert of composer and festival organizer Stefan Streich on his 65th birthday. For more than three decades, Streich has shaped the Berlin scene for new music - both as a composer and as artistic director of the Klangwerkstatt Berlin festival for new music.

The concert focuses on his compositional work: music of great concentration and clarity, which aims for the essential and makes listening itself the object. Far removed from effects and quick messages, poetic sound spaces are created in which perception, memory and the present enter into a relationship with one another. The program brings together works from the past 25 years - from the string trio "Kontur Weg" and the duo "Gran Duo" to the large-scale ensemble works "Dunkelschwarz" and "Lerche, Spur und Geister".

The evening will be organized by ensemble mosaik, which has been closely associated with the composer for many years. In the atmospheric space of the Kühlhaus Berlin, a tribute will be paid to an artist whose uncompromising yet deeply human attitude has had a lasting impact on contemporary music in Berlin.
