Konzert: Jakob Dobers / Handsomest (Indie-Pop / Alternative Pop)

Jakob Dobers has been on the road in the Berlin music scene for a long time with a wide variety of bands and projects.
Both as a singer/songwriter (solo debut "Der Rest vom Licht" 2020 on Staatsakt)
and as one half of the indie pop duo Sorry Gilberto (4 records on Goldrausch Records and Solaris Empire). He also played guitar for Freddy Fischer & His Cosmic Rocktime Band for 12 years (3 records and various singles on Sounds of Subterrainia), was singer and lyricist for Zimtfisch (4 records on Kook and What's so funny about...) and is an associate member of the foam doll music collective DAS HELMI.

Handsomest are the Canadian-born singer and songwriter Darren Jones and the Göttingen-born arranger and producer Leonard Arnemann. The two met while studying at the Music Institute of the University of Kassel.

In the summer of 2021, the alternative pop duo was born while jamming together in Leonard's shared flat. Over the course of the year, a large number of songs were written and recorded. In his lyrics, Darren tries to explore a variety of feelings: From growing up to sadness and loneliness to love and cupcakes. He is supported by a multi-layered construct of baroque-esque pompous harmonies, funky grooves and atmospheric synths.

Heavily inspired by the great artists of the 80s, their debut LP "Movie Me" is the presentation of the fleeting moment, a fleeting moment of presentation. The presentation of an individually predetermined ticket that can only be redeemed once.
