In the organizer's words:

Sogno romantico - Letters from the past

... is a personal concert journey through the history of the classical guitar.

Works by Narváez, Dowland, Sor, Mertz, Tárrega, Albéniz, Villa-Lobos, Pernambuco and Brouwer tell of the development of an instrument that has linked different cultures over the centuries.

Instead of a purely historical chronology, the result is a poetic musical journey - from the Renaissance and Romantic guitar music to the tonal landscapes of Spain and Latin America.

The program also marks the start of a larger concert cycle.
Two further programs will follow in the coming weeks:

I) Memento Musicae - Paths of Early Music, a concert on Renaissance and Baroque music

II) Irrlicht - Fragments of the Modern Guitar, a program about modern guitar music of the 20th century

Together, these programs unfold a musical journey through several centuries of European music history.
