KÖPRÜ - A bridge between two cultures

On January 29, 2026, the special exhibition "Köprü" begins at the Schauspielhaus Bonn-Bad Godesberg. The exhibition will be open on Thursday from 15:00 to 18:30. On the same evening, the well-known play "Istanbul" will also be performed at the Schauspielhaus. A visit to the Köprü exhibition can be ideally combined with the performance and enables an in-depth, multi-layered cultural experience with new perspectives and broader points of view.

The title "Köprü" translates as "bridge" and refers to the central concern of the exhibition: the dialog between cultures and the examination of Turkish and German-Turkish identity. The project is curated by Burak Can Güven and Sinem Duran. Together with 11 designers and artists, they are presenting works from various artistic fields. The spectrum ranges from photography, book and poster design and fashion to film and poetic contributions. The exhibited works open up both personal and social perspectives on cultural imprinting and belonging.

The poems by Med Sadrija set special accents in terms of content. The musical atmosphere is provided by Harun, who accompanies the exhibition space with the traditional saz.

"Köprü" sees itself as a space for encounters and exchange. The exhibition aims to create connections between people, generations and cultural backgrounds and invites people to reflect together on diversity and identity in Germany.

The experience is rounded off with freshly brewed Çay, inviting visitors to enjoy a relaxed get-together. "Köprü" promises inspiring impressions, artistic diversity and intensive encounters in the spirit of cultural dialog in Bonn.
