An intergenerational movement workshop

In preparation for her new project About TIME - an intergenerational body of stories (premiere July 2026, HP8 Stadtbibliothek), choreographer and movement artist Cristina D'Alberto will lead a workshop together with author Jan Geiger that is open to all citizens - regardless of age, experience or physical ability. Participants will explore movement and storytelling as a means of expressing personal stories and relating them to others.

The focus is on guided movement exercises that raise awareness of one's own "physical signature" - shaped by biography, cultural background and life experience. Improvisational practices make it possible to experience how memories are stored in the body and how movement can become a form of storytelling. Writing impulses support the reflection of personal memories, which are then translated into movement. Dance experience is not required; the focus is on authenticity and expression rather than technical skills.
Another focus is on working together in intergenerational groups. Through exchange, guided improvisations and choreographic games, participants weave their individual stories into collective physical narratives that bridge differences in age, background and experience.

Accompanying reflections open up space for dialog about identity, listening and community. The workshop ends with a collective presentation that makes the collaborative processes visible and creates new collective memories.

Languages: German/English. No dance or writing experience necessary. Registration is requested.
