Exhibition by Petra Herrmann:
The cow - a primeval creature, according to the creation account long before man was born, revered as a primeval mother, even sacred. Colored purple, she plays many roles today: As the star of tourism advertising and the dairy industry, as the heroine of pop culture, as the bearer of a character head of cow-eyed beauty. Majestic, sluggish, tolerant, social, but also powerful, a running animal that needs free space - and belches too much methane gas. Now caged, wired up and degraded to a milk machine. Where is the poetry of the cow, the dream of a warm, friendly world in which nobody has to prove themselves? Nietzsche was right, says painter and illustrator Petra Herrmann: "All good things have something casual about them and lie like cows in the meadow.
Petra Herrmann has been drawing and painting since she was a child. She likes to observe, tries to capture movements, deals with figures, graphic forms and natural structures. Her special love is drawing with its loose style, direct spontaneity and humor.
