KULT - Orchester im Treppenhaus

With its KULT program, the Orchester im Treppenhaus questions our concert habits. Instead of the stiff clapping and coughing labels, pictograms show the audience how to express enthusiasm, listen to the music as intensely as possible or make contact with the orchestra. An experience that has the makings of a legend. A concert evening that will become CULT.

"Scheherazade", Rimsky-Korsakov's magical orchestral poem, travels through your ears like a genie in a bottle and lets you float on a magic carpet over enchanting worlds of sound. Foreign sounds and familiar melodies pervade the concert evening and catch us in a fine web that stretches through space and time.

The Orchester im Treppenhaus has been working on an expanded concept of the concert for many years. With a playful drive for research, it explores the boundaries of the live concert situation, opening doors to new listening experiences, intimate moments and surprising content. Concert as an experience. Classical music as performance. Always with surprising connections to our reality.
