Kultur im Hinterhof Konzert mit Danny Dziuk & Krazy
In the organizer's words:
Culture in the Backyard
Danny Dziuk feat. Krazy
"Danny Dziuk has been releasing his albums rather 'under the radar' for decades. His collaborations with Stoppok and Annett Louisan have made him one of the most acclaimed songwriters. When he sings his own songs, they take on a unique power with their laconic yet passionate style." (Jury’s statement for the 2023 “German Record Critics’ Award”) JUNGE WELT writes: "Cleverly phrased questions or stories whose soul, spirit, and wit are repeatedly reminiscent of Kurt Tucholsky and—perhaps even more so on this album than usual—of Randy Newman." And Bob Dylan, too, is "recognizable, well-understood, and incorporated," wrote ROLLING STONE. Wiglaf Droste attested that he “has his finger on the pulse of the times, moves within his own era, and yet creates something timeless.” And Wolfgang Niedecken called him a “fantastic lyricist and great singer, whom I would gladly see enjoy much more success.” Partly as a day job, Danny Dziuk has written numerous scores for theater and film, including various episodes of “Tatort,” as well as symphonic arrangements for Axel Prahl’s Inselorchester, with which he tours the country from time to time. He has also performed internationally as a keyboardist with musicians including Sheryl Crow, David Lindley, and Keb’ Mo’. Danny Dziuk (vocals, piano, guitar, loops) will perform his German-language songs in an intimate setting, supported by the Cologne-based songwriter Krazy (vocals, percussion, guitar).
And since Krazy, “an unparalleled poetic and musical underground phenomenon” (Bonner Stadtmagazin), has recently released a fine new album, she’ll also perform a few songs from it, during which Dziuk will keep his mouth shut and humbly accompany her on the piano (Krazy – “In Stiefeln” — Timezone —https://www.krazysongster.de)Fri
More press reviews: ROADTRACKS: “Rarely at a concert do you see the audience listening as intently as these lyrics deserve.” (JUNGE WELT, Frank Schwarzberg) FAZ: “His songs are imbued with a delightfully dry humor, with which he skillfully positions himself between Rio Reiser’s romantic passion and Sven Regener’s laconic narrative style.” (FAZ, Norbert Krampf)
