Kunst im Kiez - Suminagashi – Zwischen Zufall und Achtsamkeit

In the organizer's words:

Your Creative Break

Suminagashi, literally “floating ink,” is one of the oldest marbling techniques in the world. In this workshop, you’ll learn a meditative printing technique in which ink gently spreads across the water’s surface, forming unique patterns.

Using fine brushes, ink, and calm movements, fleeting compositions emerge on the water—circular, wave-like, sometimes barely controllable. By carefully lifting them with rice paper, these moments are captured and transformed into poetic, one-of-a-kind pieces.

The workshop invites you to slow down, observe closely, and embrace chance as a creative partner.
