Kunst ver-rückt Tanz

After a one-year hiatus, there will be a highly anticipated new edition of “Art Inspires Dance,” an evening featuring original choreographies by members of the dance company at the Theater Lüneburg.

With growing success over the years, the dancers have been delighting audiences here with their choreographic talent and diverse creative ideas. Modern dance theater meets contemporary ballet; humorous encounters give way to moments of deep seriousness; and polished productions contrast with scenes born of improvisation. Whether a solo or an ensemble piece—the focus here is on the stories of the young choreographers, presented without elaborate sets, pure, direct, and contemporary.

The dance is always full of life, expressive power, and commitment, and the diverse characters, backgrounds, and dance styles of the company members always shine through the movements. To give them the greatest possible artistic freedom, there are no guidelines whatsoever regarding the themes, music, or length of their pieces. However, they must coordinate among themselves in such a way that the intensive, six-week creative process guarantees equal conditions for all participants, since such a production naturally also requires a detailed allocation of rehearsal time, dancers, and technical resources.
