Pattern Breaking
Group exhibition in the Iron House, Nymphenburg Palace
May 8-10, 2026, Munich

With the exhibition "Breaking Patterns", 13 artists will present a multi-layered examination of social and personal structures - and the courage to consciously question and break through them - at the Eisernes Haus in Nymphenburg Palace from May 8 to 10, 2026.

Taking Mother's Day as its starting point, the exhibition focuses in particular on the role of women in the field of tension between expectations, self-determination and change.

The works on display move between very personal and socio-critical perspectives:

Carolin Wolter addresses transgenerational traumas and combines them with symbols of healing and new beginnings, while Franziska Grundner breaks down perfectionism by combining controlled painting with spontaneous influences from her daughter. In an intense self-portrait, Tatjana Hodes explores learned role models, body perception and female socialization and calls for a re-evaluation of intimacy and self-determination.

The tension between control and chance becomes visible in the work of Christina Klein, whose experimental color techniques consciously combine order and chaos.

Silke Anthes also explores the relationship between structure and dissolution, while Lisa-Maria Reith questions familiar ways of seeing through shifts in perspective.

Perception itself becomes the subject of Anna Chornobrovkina, whose works only reveal their true meaning at second glance, as well as Ingrid Amann, who uses uninfluenced photography to visualize fleeting structures of light and space and challenge viewing habits.

Ronja Sinnister deals with emotional closeness and interpersonal connection and at the same time uses the exhibition to consciously open up her own artistic practice and try out new forms of expression. Sarah Stanojevic takes up the theme of "Bringing children's dreams into the now" and combines personal visions with artistic expression.

Questions of memory and perception also play a central role: Franziska Weber (Franziphia) breaks through the pattern of mere documentation with her photographic collages and makes visible how memories are reassembled from fragments and sensory impressions.

Dr. Nicoleta Wacker dedicates a sculptural work to the iconic figure of Audrey Hepburn and places her timeless independence and strength in the context of self-empowerment and social change.

A special element of the exhibition is the open painting station, which actively involves visitors. Here, visitors can create their own spring motifs - inspired by nature and floral elements, also as a personal gesture for Mother's Day.
