Kuratorenführung durch die Ausstellung Paolo Porelli & Mattia Vernocchi – Werden: zwischen Materie, Geschichte und Natur
In the organizer's words:
In this exhibition, Italian ceramic artists Paolo Porelli (1966) and Mattia Vernocchi (1980) present two forms of expression with distinct linguistic connotations that bridge the conceptual gap between figuration and abstraction. Porelli creates archetypal figures, starting from an original stereotype that he transforms into a multitude of new subjects of an alienated, metaphysical nature. Vernocchi analyzes the object in its transition from practical functionality to its informal sublimation; through the transformative possibilities of matter, the act of creation is revealed. Both artists draw on a personal reflection on industrial society, which they use as a creative pretext to produce inventions that lead back to humanity’s archaic roots and to a necessary reunification with nature.
Curator Dr. Gundula Caspary will lead a tour of the exhibition.
