A family comedy about the drama of parenthood

Dressed as a stork, Lia tells her family (and her boyfriend Tom) that she is expecting a child. But it's Tom who gets the well-intentioned rather than good advice. Lia is already overwhelmed enough with her planned movie - about the history of the midwifery profession, of all things. And they all have more than enough experience - with children and having children. It soon becomes clear that many a smouldering relationship fire - be it with Lia's parents or between her sister and her husband - is fanned into a blazing blaze by Lia's news. And as a childless aunt, Lia's other sister also has a lot to contribute to the topic of offspring. In this fast-paced and turbulent family and social comedy, the question of the meaning of life's work is discussed across the generations at a children's birthday party and at Christmas - passionately and with punchlines chasing each other at a galloping pace.

Jan Neumann, born in Munich in 1975, is an actor, author and director. He wrote the comedies "Chihuahua" for the Nationaltheater Mannheim (2011) and "Bombenstimmung" for the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen (2017). He often develops plays in the rehearsal process with the ensembles, such as "Sensemann & Söhne" (2020) and "kurz&nackig" (2023). Naumann works regularly at Schauspiel Frankfurt, Schauspiel Hannover, Schauspiel Stuttgart, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Schauspiel Köln and Schauspielhaus Bochum.
