Kurz.Film.Tour

In the organizer's words:

The Kurz.Film.Tour stops at the Urania Berlin and presents a selection of the German Short Film Award.

Among them are two films that were shown at the Berlinale in 2023: EL SECUESTRO DE LA NOVIA by Sophia Moccorrea and THE WAITING by Volker Schecht.

Mykyta Gibalenko's film I SEE THEM BLOOM and Sarges Kalhor's SENSITIVE CONTENT complete the program.

Q&A following the films, moderated by filmmaker Hannah Kretzschmar.

EL SECUESTRO DE LA NOVIA (The Bride Abduction)

Luisa from Buenos Aires and Fred from Brandenburg have created their own universe in their relationship. At their wedding, the lovers are increasingly confronted with their social roles and intercultural prejudices.

THE WAITING

Karen Lips lives in a tiny hut in the rainforest for several years to study frogs. When she leaves the place for a short time and returns, there is not a single frog to be found. Karen sets off on a search - and makes a gruesome discovery. The mysterious deaths all have a similar pattern, but are thousands of kilometers apart. What is behind this? And what does all this have to do with us?

I SEE THEM BLOOM

2022: Sisters Eugenia and Nastya are warmly welcomed in Munich after fleeing Ukraine. The Ukrainians immerse themselves in a world full of sunshine, music and exuberant celebrations - as if they had landed on an island paradise. But what happens next? While Nastya tries to enjoy her new life, Eugenia struggles to return to normality.

SENSITIVE CONTENT

Behind the "sensitive content", behind this symbol of crossed-out eyes, in this Deep Blur, two real eyes have been erased by the violence in the Middle East. This Deep Blur video is about the eyewitnesses who don't look away, who stay there, with their powerless eyes and their trembling hands recording the "sensitive content". They risk their lives and fight for visibility.
