Brasilien: Landkonflikte und Liebe

Dulce, a young teacher in the arid and bitterly poor north-east of Brazil, witnesses her boyfriend being murdered - in the Brazilian women's film "Alegria do Amor. The land conflicts in the area are brutal: between an international mining company and the inhabitants of a village that was founded decades ago as the proud "Quilombo" by black enslaved people who had fled. The young teacher flees to São Paulo and finds friendship, support and solace in the queer scene of the megalopolis.

Márcia Paraiso, a Brazilian director who has lived in Munich, has cast 90 percent of her second feature film with women. In keeping with the subject matter, 70 percent of her film team belong to the LGBTQIA+ scene.

Director Márcia Paraiso and film producer Ralf Tambke will be present at the screening today.
