In the organizer's words:
For this year's Long Night of Museums on the theme of "Crime in Berlin", visitors to the Akademie building on Pariser Platz can look forward to numerous guided tours that offer a glimpse behind the scenes.
In addition to architectural tours, the underground depot of the art collection will show which crimes were immortalized in paintings and which paintings themselves were victims. The show depot provides a special insight into the outstanding collection of architectural models. Traces of crime and justice have also been discovered there. The library deals with historical criminal cases and Berlin prisons, and hidden stories and almost forgotten writings from the archive of the Akademie der Künste can be viewed in the reading room.
The picture cellar with its unique examples of post-war modern art from the GDR is open. And of course we cordially invite you to visit our bar on the roof terrace with its spectacular view of the Brandenburg Gate.
On the theme of the Long Night "Crime in Berlin", we are showing traces of crime and justice in the art collection depot, in the show depot architectural models, in the library and in the reading room. The picture cellar and the roof terrace bar with a view of the Brandenburg Gate will also be open.
