Langer Donnerstag im Museum Ludwig: EIN PICASSO

In the organizer's words:

On the first Long Thursday in 2024, we will be showing you the play: "EIN PICASSO"! Paris, 1941: Pablo Picasso is taken to a cellar by the German occupying forces for interrogation. His counterpart: Mrs. Fischer, an attractive cultural attaché from Berlin. Her mission is to determine which of the three paintings recently confiscated from their Jewish owners are genuine Picassos. The Ministry of Propaganda has planned an exhibition of "degenerate art" and only Picasso himself can testify to the authenticity of the paintings. A cat-and-mouse game begins. It's about art, politics, sex and truth, let yourself be surprised.

At the beginning of the evening (around 6pm), actors Hanno Dinger and Neele Pettig will perform a short scene from the play in our collection presentation of Pablo Picasso's Suite 156, before the curtain rises in the cinema at 7pm.

From 6 to 9 pm we invite you to the drop-in print workshop in the Picasso presentation. Here you can get creative yourself.
