"L'appel du printemps 2024" Konzert "Christine Corvisier"

Just under 500 kilometers lie between Bilk and the Eiffel Tower. In good traffic conditions, the distance can be covered by car in a good five hours. But you can save yourself the effort and the gas in March and April, when France comes to Bilk - as a movie, a menu, a concert experience, a spring-like feeling. L'APPEL DU PRINTEMPS is the name of the small series with which the Metropol art-house cinema and the vegan bistro Pure Note are once again bringing French lifestyle and culture to Brunnenstraße from March 15. The two institutions, which are known far beyond Bilk's borders, are thus continuing a project that was successfully launched last year.

After her studies (1st prize "DEM", at the "Conservatoire de Nice" - France and "Jazz Bachelor Degree" at the international "Conservatorium van Amsterdam" - Netherlands) Christine Corvisier quickly made a name for herself in the jazz scene of the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France and Germany, where she regularly plays with various projects.

In 2008 she won the "Young Talent of Alpes Maritimes" award and released her first album

album "Walking Around" on the EBF label.

A study visit to New York in 2009 with lessons from, among others, Joshua Redman, Chris

Cheek, George Garzone, David Binney, Donny McCaslin and others accelerated her musical

musical development.

She is the leader of the band Christine Corvisier 5tet, with whom she performs her compositions and

arrangements very lyrically but also with a lot of energy.

After moving to Cologne in 2010, she formed the Christine Corvisier 5tet with musicians from the

musicians from the Cologne jazz scene and made a name for herself far beyond Cologne with her energetic compositions and her virtuoso yet soulful playing.

Their last 3 albums "Reconnaissance" (2015), "First Takes" (2016) and "Chansons de

Cologne" (2022) received very good reviews in the national jazz press: Jazzpodium,

Jazzthing, jazzthetik JazzZeitung, Fidelity etc. Christine is also in demand as a sidewoman for jazz and pop music and plays regularly in the King Kamehameha Band, or the Rundfunktanzorchester Ehrenfeld with Jan Böhmermann with national and international celebrities, as well as with Guildo Horn's orthopaedic stockings.

In September 2022, Christine released the album "Chansons de Cologne", on which she reinterprets well-known French chansons in a jazz style.
This album was so successful that she decided to produce a second album, which will be recorded in June 2024: She will perform at Pure Note as a duo with pianist Leon Hattori and they will play a mix of pieces from "Chansons de Cologne" and the brand new album that has not yet been recorded: a pre-premiere. Surprise guaranteed!
