"L'appel du printemps 2024" Konzert "Emile et Harena"

Just under 500 kilometers lie between Bilk and the Eiffel Tower. In good traffic conditions, the distance can be covered by car in a good five hours. But you can save yourself the effort and the gas in March and April, because France is coming to Bilk - as a movie, as a menu, as a concert experience, as a spring-like feeling. L'APPEL DU PRINTEMPS is the name of the small series with which the art-house cinema Metropol and the vegan bistro Pure Note are once again bringing French lifestyle and culture to Brunnenstraße from March 15. The two institutions, which are known far beyond Bilk's borders, are thus continuing a project that was successfully launched last year.

Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Emile & Harena, a dynamic singer-songwriter duo aged 24, who released their very first pop project "Moonstone" on June 15.

Emile, who hails from the beautiful Loire region in France, finds his inspiration in the contemporary French pop scene and draws inspiration from talents such as Møme, Luv Resval, Nekfeu and Orelsan. Harena, born in Madagascar and raised in Angers, draws her inspiration from pop icons such as Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey and Frank Ocean.

Her extraordinary musical fusion here skillfully combines elements of electro-pop, hip-hop production and bittersweet lyrics to create a captivating and intoxicating soundscape.

Emile, who studied sound engineering in Paris for two years and is now completing a master's degree in pop composition at the Folkwang University in Germany, brings his technical expertise to the collaboration. Harena enriches the duo with her poetic talent and life experience, merging her melancholic influences with her everyday reality.

Their common goal is to create new emotional landscapes in which a unique blend of dreaminess and nostalgia resounds, reflecting their own evolution and their incessant thirst for change and development.

What's also interesting about this band is how they re-appropriate their works, moving from heavily produced music on CD to a minimalist reworking with guitar, piano and voice on stage.

On Friday, March 29 at 8pm at the Bistro&Cafe "Pure Note", they will perform an intimate acoustic concert in which they will present their unreleased original compositions in French.
