Let's talk, Beuys! Sound-installative explorations of Joseph Beuys' text Talking about Germany

A series of workshops with the artist Vincent Scheers as part of the 50th anniversary year of zeige deine Wunde at MaximimiliansForum

After our Beuys approach at the Lenbachhaus, where Diana Ebster will give us a short introduction to Beuys' installation zeige deine Wunde (1976), we will meet a week later at the Färberei. There, various participants will read the text Sprechen über Deutschland in the sound studio. The basis of the sound installation, which will be heard in the MaximiliansForum as part of the zeige deine Wunde anniversary year, is ready!

Then we experiment: What does this text have to do with us? What do we think of it, of Beuys? Do we agree with it? Is there any resistance? How would we talk about Germany today?
Comments, overwritings, new inventions, no matter in which language, whether with music or sounds, in whole sentences or fragments - only your (ge)layers give the One-Man-Basis the beautiful sound of complexity.
The Färberei recording studio is equipped with a wide variety of technology and musical instruments and is available for your experiments.

Vincent Scheers is a Belgian artist and educator working in the fields of sculpture, film and sound. His works deal with the themes of care (which stem from his work as a healthcare professional) and institutional critique.
