Gripping, energetic and spiritual at the same time: Jordi Savall's interpretations of sacred music have a fascinating energy all of their own. With his ensembles Le Concert des Nations and the Capella Nacional de Catalunya, the Catalan now performs Mozart's Requiem. As the composer's farewell work, it has a mythical status - yet its musical substance alone is overwhelming: from the dark visions of the Last Judgement to the hopeful splendour of eternal light. The concert opens with Mozart's Clarinet Concerto, a work full of beguiling melodies, played by Italian clarinettist Francesco Spendolini.
