With "Meine Haut packt aus" (2023), Brigitte published a work that touches readers and challenges society at the same time. The book, which was awarded second place in the story.one Book Awards, brings together short literary texts about racism, identity and self-assertion. In a personal yet universal way, Brigitte tells of borderline experiences, empowerment and the desire to belong in a society characterized by colonial and racist structures.

"Meine Haut packt aus" is regularly used in the context of Schule ohne Rassismus - Schule mit Courage and has become the starting point for discussions about structural racism, allyship and intersectional perspectives at many schools, universities and cultural institutions. Brigitte reads and discusses her book in Germany, Spain and Portugal. In doing so, she creates spaces in which listeners can feel seen, adopt new perspectives and reflect on social processes.

As an Afro-German author dedicated to queer-feminist and intercultural issues, Brigitte is an important voice in the German-speaking literary and educational context. In addition to her own writing work, she also supports other authors as a literary agent with her book promotion service Dein Buch im Rampenlicht.

She is currently working on a new novel manuscript that focuses on queer and intercultural love relationships in Germany and Spain.
