Why do we read? Which stories accompany us through life, making us laugh, think, or marvel? In her new book, *One More Page: Why Reading Makes Us So Happy*, Meike Winnemuth explores a very special passion: reading.
For an entire summer, she observed herself while reading, discovered books ranging from Seneca to Virginia Woolf, from Tolstoy to Sally Rooney, and immersed herself in the diverse world of literature. Through personal experiences, thought-provoking reflections, and surprising encounters, she explains why books bring us together, enrich our lives—and why no two people ever read the same book.
