Lesung: Verwobene Geschichten – Parallele Realitäten

The current exhibition at the PalaisPopulaire deals with the different temporalities that buildings, objects and narratives have absorbed and carried within them over the centuries. Even personal stories are never free from the narratives of others and cannot be viewed in isolation from the past. To this end, Katharina von Uslar and Edgar Rai present newly published literary works in which time, memory and subjective truths come together.

Actor Anton Weil will read excerpts from each of the books presented: In the twist-filled novel, "In Her House" by Yael van der Wouden (Gutkind), two very different women are connected through a shared place. A specific region also plays a formative role in Liz Moore's new thriller "Der Gott des Waldes" (C.H.Beck). In his debut "Anschlussfehler" (Voland & Quist), Florentin Schumacher explains how places and time can be overwritten with one's own experiences, bringing one physically and emotionally closer to another person. And in "Es währt für immer und dann ist vorbei" (Suhrkamp), Anne de Marcken writes tragicomically about forgetting - and about the love that remains.
