"Bleibe" at the Kunstmuseum Bonn

A new place of action for the urban community

From May 2026, the Kunstmuseum Bonn will begin a participatory process to redesign the foyer. The aim is to create a free, accessible space for everyone looking for room for thought, fun, encounters and action. Using a modular furniture system, the quality of the foyer will be increased and a flexible, demand-oriented meeting point, project space and stage for local initiatives and organizations will be created. With thematic contributions, the "Bleibe" expands the exhibitions with discursive impulses from urban society.

As a starting signal for the participatory redesign of the museum foyer, we invite you to occupy the museum on International Museum Day, May 17, 2026, from 2 pm! Whether armchair, stool, seat mat, divan or zabuton: bring your favorite piece of seating furniture and become part of the museum's rediscovery. Each piece of furniture gives two people Free admission!

The redesign is being realized by raumlaborberlin. Participation opportunities and process updates will be published on the museum website and in the foyer.

Price information:

Participation and admission to the museum are free for two people per chair. Registration is not necessary.
