On August 1, 2026, at 8:00 p.m., we’re thrilled to invite you back to our favorite spot,@secondhomeneuss, for another singer-songwriter night! Of course, as is customary: Free admission, and there’ll be a hat for you to toss a little something into if you’d like.

This time, Nina (from@more_frills) and@mikemisfitmusicwill be showcasing their guitar skills.

Rough-edged, unadorned, poetic—in her solo project, Nina from Düsseldorf presents the songs of her band More Frills without noise or fuzz, but just as they were created: as short, playful poems accompanied by guitar and soprano vocals.

Mike Misfit grew up in the early ’80s in the no-man’s-land of Aachen, on the westernmost edge of Germany. There, for many years, he belted out vocals, played bass, or strummed guitar in a colorful collection of punk bands. All of them famous, loud, notorious, unknown. In 2016, fate dealt him what seemed like a lousy hand. He was booked with his main band for a gig in Luxembourg when the rest of the band called in sick the night before the show. So he played the songs just as he’d written them: on his old acoustic guitar. The gig turned into an ordeal—the stage too big, the backstage area too empty, the songs too stripped-down. A one-time, nerve-wracking exception. A week later, he was back on stage. Alone again, with his old guitar once more. And again. And again. In 2017, he made it official: out with the distortion, in with storytelling. Mike Misfit. Folk & Acoustic Punk. Ever since, he’s been touring the backroads of Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg in his old camper. Whether on the street, in a squat, in bars, or at festivals—wherever he ends up, he sings about the absurd force of life, its abysses, and the fine line between tragedy and comedy.
