LILY FITTS
In the organizer's words:
When your first taste of public attention comes from having your cover videos shared by genre giants like Noah Kahan, Zach Bryan, or The Lumineers, you don’t need to look into a crystal ball to know: She’s worth checking out! As for American singer-songwriter Lily Fitts, the early praise was by no means misplaced. With her emotional indie-folk songs, the American artist is ushering in a new generation of indie-folk and country artists whose focus on storytelling resonates deeply with her growing fanbase. Yet for a long time, music wasn’t even on Lily Fitts’ radar—at least not in such a professional context.
Born and raised on Boston’s North Shore, she began recording and sharing covers of her early idols—such as Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus—on YouTube as a child, playing guitar and piano; however, Lily Fitts long saw herself as a doctor and studied medicine in Massachusetts. It wasn’t until more and more of her videos went viral on TikTok—most notably her version of Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season”—that Lily began to consider music as a career path and quickly took the plunge. In 2023, she released her first original songs, including the debut single “Hurts Like Hell,” in which the singer recounts a painful breakup in a diary-like style. These honest coming-of-age lyrics are the hallmark of Lily Fitts’ artistry, which was first presented in full-length form last year with her debut album “Getting By.” Through the album’s ten autobiographical songs, Lily Fitts lets her listeners in on her life, where heartbreak, loss, and self-discovery are just as much a part of the story as growing up and inner conflicts. The singer is set to enter the studio as early as this year to record her second album—but not before celebrating her debut album once again with an extensive European tour.
