Lime Garden on tour in Germany for the first time

Lime Garden come from Brighton and are considered one of the great indie hopes on the island. Since the four English girls first took to the stage a good two years ago, they have been on the road virtually non-stop, playing one show after the next. When they are not recording one of their ten or so singles, which showcase the full range of their skills. Now Lime Garden's debut album is due and their repertoire has been expanded by a further ten tracks. On it, the quartet continue to prove themselves completely fearless and unadapted. Noisy guitars and disco beats, sleepy vocals and fast surf are no contradictions for them, but rather become a very special sound. Singer and guitarist Chloe Howard, guitarist Leila Deeley, bassist Tippi Morgan and drummer Annabel Whittle met on social media and have been making music together since they were 16, and you can hear them growing up together in their music. They know what they want - and what they don't want. "I don't wanna work my job 'cause life is fleeting and I'm a popstar," Howard sings with a wink about the double life that comes with being in a DIY band. The songs are spirited, humorous and hopeful, with an urgent, chaotic charm for which Lime Garden are already being celebrated. The debut is a tribute to the early 2000s indie-sleaze era of weird guitars. But don't worry, this sound has nothing to do with nostalgia thanks to a host of experimental effects. Lime Garden have ended up on a considerable number of one-to-watch lists and at every important international showcase festival. They have also opened for Idles, The Big Moon and Yard Act. Clunk magazine said: "Their energetic and somewhat hypnotizing performance makes them an incredibly exciting band", and there's nothing to add to that. Except that Lime Garden will finally be on tour with us in April.
