Lingua Erotica is a collaborative project by Berlin-based producers and DJs Narciss and Morphena, born out of a very unique creative process that closely intertwines personal communication, visual references, and the need for musical reinvention. The starting point was the duo’s desire to use the project to explicitly break free from the narrow confines of the functional club context and move more toward song formats, pop, and soundtrack aesthetics. With their debut EP *Wrapped In Silk*, they establish themselves as an exciting synth-pop duo that draws on cinematic dramaturgy, ’80s references, and Italo-disco motifs. Their influences range from David Lynch to Dario Argento and Federico Fellini, which is reflected in both the sonic texture and the staging. Themes such as desire, conflict, projection, and self-presentation are not abstracted but translated directly into song structures. For Narciss and Morphena, the transition to a band project marks a shift from control to expression: voice, lyrics, and performance take center stage. Songs like “El Diablo” or “Stars In Your Eyes” draw on biographical moments and transform them into clearly defined pop forms without resolving their ambivalences. Lingua Erotica works with tensions—between intimacy and performance, narration and club aesthetics—and thus restores emotion to pop.
