Linoldruck & Upcycling
In the organizer's words:
In this workshop, you’ll transform seemingly ordinary items into something truly special. Using the linocut printing technique, you’ll turn the textiles you bring with you into one-of-a-kind pieces. Step by step, you’ll learn the basics of linocut printing: You’ll develop your own motif, carve your printing plate, and then print fabrics with your very own personal design. We’ll use a textile dye that takes about a week to dry completely and is machine-washable afterward.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re new to linocut printing or have long been a fan of this technique. I’m always available to offer help and answer questions. At the end, each participant will take home their new favorite piece as well as their own printing plate.
We’ll draw, tinker, and get creative together. You’re welcome to come alone or sign up with a group. Everyone is welcome—including children, of course. However, due to the sharp tools, I recommend this workshop for ages 10 and up.
Please bring a piece of clothing, a pillowcase, a fabric bag, a tablecloth, or another piece of fabric that you’d like to give a new lease on life. It’s important that it’s made of cotton, is a light color, and has been freshly washed. All other printing materials will be provided. No prior experience is necessary.
