In the organizer's words:
The trilogy "Das Haus auf meinen Schultern" by Düsseldorf-born author Dieter Forte (1935-2019) is largely set in Düsseldorf-Oberbilk during the Second World War and the post-war period. Forte describes the life and suffering of the people, their hardship, their fear and also their will to survive. This expertly guided tour takes you to the locations of the novel through the district, which was dominated by heavy industry at the time, bringing Forte's magnificent work to life and providing information about the history of the area around Kölner Straße, the "Kö der Arbeiter".
