Musical reading - Sleeping Beauty and the 7 Onions
A scenic-musical fairy tale satire
Sourced from writings and mouths
and performed by Jutta Seifert.
Musically staged by the Duo Bergerac.
Contents
Of cunning lovers and the praise of disobedience. Of dubious plants and ridiculous amphibians. Of tender melodies and coarse mischief.
You think you know Grimm's fairy tales?
Deep sleep, revenge, kisses and tears - would you like to know what the prince was actually about? Dwarves, thorns, bad luck and gold - what does a woman have to do to really be a princess?
With virtuosity and playfulness, the trio transforms the familiar into whirring string sounds and cascades of words. Fairy tales are turned upside down and shaken up until they bubble out: magical music and deep insights.
For people with imagination and a sense of the fantastic.
DUO BERGERAC
Karin Scholz and Peter Ernst - guitars
Karin Scholz and Peter Ernst meet for the first time on the night train from Munich to Rome - they are both on their way to an international guitar competition. It is the last time the two young guitar virtuosos compete against each other. Since then, they have been winning prizes together (Montélimar / Bubenreuth / Wuppertal) and giving concerts on both sides of the Atlantic. Their performances are flanked by eight albums and radio productions (Radio Bremen, Bayerischer Rundfunk).
In collaboration with JUTTA SEIFERT, DUO BERGERAC also presents the music from the current productions QUIET (2022) and GENTLE (2024) as a reading concert.
