Moderated book presentation with historian and author Andreas Kossert, who will be presenting his bestseller Flucht - Eine Menschheitsgeschichte.
Like few others, Kossert knows how to place the refugee movements of the early 21st century in a large historical context. Always close to individual fates and in a moving way, Kossert shows the existential experiences of uprooting and hostility that accompany the loss of one's homeland - and why it has always been so difficult for refugees and displaced persons to put down new roots in a foreign country.
Flucht - Eine Menschheitsgeschichte was awarded the 2021 Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Prize for The Political Book.
