LITTLE TROUBLE GIRLS
In the organizer's words:
Sixteen-year-old Lucia joins the girls’ choir at her Catholic school. There she meets Ana-Maria, who is two years older, and befriends the confident, popular girl. When the entire choir travels to Italy for an intensive rehearsal weekend over the summer, tensions arise between the two: Lucia, who is introverted and has grown up in a sheltered environment, develops a crush on an attractive construction worker; at the same time, with Ana-Maria’s help, she begins to discover her sexuality. These are days that call into question not only their still-new friendship but also Lucia’s faith and values…
Slovenian filmmaker Urška Djukić won the 2022 European Film Award, among other honors, for her award-winning short films. In her feature film debut, *LITTLE TROUBLE GIRLS*—carried by an outstanding cast—she tells a story of female sexual awakening without resorting to clichés.
