live arts: Manu Delago & Max ZT

Grammy-nominated musicians Manu Delago and Max ZT have joined forces to form a new duo that explores the sonic possibilities of their instruments - handpan and dulcimer - in a fascinating new way. A sophisticated compositional style meets the virtuoso art of improvisation. The result is impressive, sensual worlds of sound - sensitive and at the same time full of dynamism.

The composer and percussionist Manu Delago has already traveled to over 50 countries with his performances and worked with renowned artists such as Björk, Anoushka Shankar and The Cinematic Orchestra. As a soloist, he has performed with the Metropole Orkest and the London Symphony Orchestra, among others. In his multi-award-winning music film Parasol Peak, Delago leads a seven-piece ensemble on a musical mountain expedition. In 2021 and 2023, the adventurous musician embarked on his ReCycling Tour - a sustainable concert tour by bicycle, during which the band and crew covered 1500 kilometers across Europe.

Max ZT, hailed by NPR as "the Jimi Hendrix of the dulcimer", has revolutionized the way his instrument is played through decades of experience and tireless experimentation. His music incorporates influences from various traditions from Africa to India. The Brooklyn-based musician is a founding member of House of Waters and has already released eight albums on GroundUP Music, Snarky Puppy's label.

Their joint debut album "Deuce" will be released in early 2026, followed by a worldwide concert tour. From the very first note, Manu Delago and Max ZT transport their audience into a world of sound that is both archaic and astonishingly new - familiar and yet never heard before.
