"Emergency Room - The podcast from Médecins Sans Frontières" goes live on stage again It's about our new ship in the Mediterranean and its crew: they save people from drowning. Our guest Camil El Khoury was there when the ship set sail for the first time. In conversation with our presenters Christian Katzer and Anna Dushime , he talks about everyday life on board and why his job as a cultural mediator is so important there. He shares anecdotes, experiences and impressions from everyday life in a state of emergency and shows why MSF 's work in the Mediterranean remains so important even after more than 11 years.

Speakers and moderation:

Christian Katzer has been working for Médecins Sans Frontières since 1999 and has been Managing Director of the aid organization in Germany since 2020. Previously, he worked in the organization's projects in Liberia, Afghanistan, Somalia and East Timor, among others. He has also held various positions in the aid organization's Berlin office, including Head of Human Resources and Aid Projects.

Anna Dushime was born in Kigali, went to school in England, graduated from high school in the Lower Rhine region and studied in the Netherlands. She works as an author, presenter and editor. Among other things, she hosted the first season of the successful dating podcast "1000 First Dates". Her show "Der letzte Drink mit Anna Dushime" was awarded the Grimme Prize in 2024.

Camil El Khoury was born in Lebanon and fled to Germany. There, he worked as a social worker and project manager for cultural events while completing a Master's degree in Vocational Education and Human Resources Development at the Technical University of Dresden
