Loewenherz is an interdisciplinary dance theater piece for a young audience aged 10 and up.Using language, contemporary dance, breakdance and live music, the piece explores strategies of empowerment in the context of post-migrant social structures. One scene of the project Loewenherz convinced the jury of the Wortschaufestival, Barbara Mundel, Olivia Ebert, Sarah Bergh, Emre Akal and Guido Huller and won the Wortschaufestival 2020 at the Pepper Theater. The dramaturgical template and source of inspiration for the project is Astrid Lindgren's adventure novel "The Brothers Lionheart". The story about an unequal pair of siblings shows that it is possible to overcome boundaries and fears together. Together with the performers Serhat Perhat and Rahät Wumaier, Lena Gorelik develops a new text that gets to the bottom of the question: What keeps me going in a seemingly hopeless situation? What gives me orientation and strength? Fictional elements from the novel are interwoven with autobiographical and documentary elements of the present and combined with breakdance. The band Fallwander plays live music with electronic and acoustic elements.
