Together with renowned people and portrait photographer Tomas Rodriguez, you’ll dive deep into the world of creative portrait photography. In this five-hour intensive course, he’ll teach you, through hands-on practice, how to work with available light and strategically manipulate it to create striking visual moods. You’ll learn how light, perspective, and focal length interact, and which details make the difference between a good portrait and an extraordinary one.

The Perfect Balance of Theory and Practice

To begin, you’ll gain in-depth insights into the most important fundamentals of portrait photography. You’ll explore optimal camera settings, the deliberate choice of perspectives, and the creative use of selective focus. You’ll then put what you’ve learned directly into practice.

During a practical photo shoot with a professional model, you’ll work under real-world conditions and learn to authentically capture natural emotions. Tomas Rodriguez will show you how to specifically influence lighting effects using fill lights, shadow lights, and off-camera flash. This will help you develop a confident sense of how to best showcase both your subject and the location.

Canon Technology in Action

A key component of the workshop is working with modern Canon equipment. Take advantage of this opportunity to get hands-on experience with the latest Canon EOS R cameras and high-quality RF lenses and test them extensively. This way, you’ll experience firsthand how modern Canon technology can support your creative image composition.
