Loikaemie - Love or Hate - Tour

we are not only happy to present our new record "Menschen" with you, in 2024 we will celebrate "30 years of Loikaemie" together.

Founded in Plauen in 1994, LOIKAEMIE quickly developed into a nationwide scene institution. A legendary demo tape, long out of print, was followed by the first album "Ihr für uns und wir für euch" in 1996. LOIKAEMIE never had a problem with being offensive: their debut ended up on the index in the meantime, but the lyrics were anything but harmless and pleasing afterwards. Their contribution to the soundtrack of the award-winning film "Oi! Warning" made them known to a wider audience in 1999.

This was followed by the albums "Wir sind die Skins" (2000), "III" (2002) and "Loikaemie" (2007).
After a few line-up changes, LOIKAEMIE's longest and most stable line-up is now Thomas, Eddie, Paul and Bruno. They pulled the plug for the time being in 2014, but LOIKAEMIE has been back since 2019.

To underpin their status as one of Europe's best-known Oi! and punk bands, four studio albums in over 20 years have been enough. On them, all the more "hits", if you want to call them that in an unpretentious scene context. Their unmistakably anti-fascist anthem "Good Night White Pride", but also the pleasurable middle finger "Oi! That's Yer Lot" or the melancholy and subtle "Trinkfestigkeit" are a must at every concert. After 16 long years, 12 new songs have now been added to "Menschen", LOIKAEMIE's fifth album.

"Menschen" - LOIKAEMIE's new album finally arrives after 16 years

"Buckle up! Unbelievable, but true! Fucking axe!" The words from Saxony's biggest punk festival could not have been any smaller. With their surprise headliner, Back To Future 2019 announced: LOIKAMIE is back! Within five years, a jolt went through the European Oi! and punk scene twice: the emotions were heavy at the farewell in 2014, and the euphoria was even greater at the comeback!

LOIKAEMIE is now once again a permanent fixture high up in the line-ups of festivals and clubs far beyond Germany. Thomas, Eddie, Paul and Bruno have not only been able to seamlessly pick up where they left off live, but have taken it to the next level, young and old meet at the concerts in all their subcultural diversity, LOIKAEMIE is a band that everyone can agree on - in the best sense of the word.

Creativity has also reawakened: 2022 saw the release of "Lumpenmann" and "Tief im Herzen", the first new songs since 2007, heralding the fifth studio album "Menschen", which will finally be released on November 24. It's no wonder that after 16 years, expectations are huge, both among fans and the band itself. And "Menschen" is nothing less than a manifesto of what punk rock should sound like in 2023: Snotty and melodic, uncompromising and reflective, political and good-humored. All twelve ear-cutters breathe the unmistakable LOIKAEMIE spirit and yet "Menschen" is a huge step forward. Even the extremely modern-sounding opener "Wenn wir alle so wären" sweeps away everything that currently pogs trivially through the punk scene on generalities, from the subsequent anthemic title track to the concluding self-invitation "Lasst und rein", the energy remains at the top, while at the same time the album is more multi-layered than ever before in the band's history. Street punk and rock'n'roll planks are joined by reggae, spoken word, ballads and melodies that wouldn't have to hide in pop either. Instead of pithy statements, the lyrics tell pointed stories, share thoughtful thoughts on current miseries in the world, the scene or in their own heads. But there is also no shying away from the anthemic chorus, which full concert halls can sing together from now on.

LOIKAEMIE has never bent, but neither has it stiffened. For many, they are nothing less than a cult and legend, but they still move with the times and do not close their eyes to necessary changes. Hip scene fashions are given the middle finger just as much as arrogant smart alecks, unteachable dogmatists or those who think "everything used to be better". Capitalist bourgeoisie, gentrifiers, old environmentalist sows and all other cross-thinkers get their comeuppance. Blue, brown and gray Nazis get a good smack in the face anyway.

LOIKAEMIE has always retained the "against the current" mentality of Oi! and prefers to approach things as they see fit. That's why "Menschen" is also being released on the band's newly founded label "Fettfleck Records", which is also set to become a platform for other bands in the future. The name is not only an ironic reminiscence of the legendary punk label Fat Wreck, but also programmatic: a grease stain is something that lasts. LOIKAEMIE are also back to stay, and not just to celebrate the band's 30th birthday in 2024.

On 24.11.2023 our new record "Menschen" will be officially released on our own label "Fettfleck Records" distributed by Cargo Records.
