KATER released their first EP in August 2019 and shortly afterwards played numerous live shows with bands such as VAR (ISL) and Raum27. In the summer of 2021, the band began recording their first longplayer, the great idea of leaving, with the help of producer Timo Hollmann. The first single release masquerade including video was released at the beginning of May 2022.

The response to the LP was consistently positive and was praised by Trust Magazine, Tonspion and King Asshole, among others.

At the end of 2022, KATER recorded their forthcoming EP at Harbor Inn Studios. The first singles part of me, retro glory and a place to adore were released in April, May and September. Another single will follow in the last quarter. Another longplayer is planned for next year.
