Love Me Tender I QFFM
In the organizer's words:
Engaging film adaptation of Constance Debré's book of the same name, starring a terrific Vicky Krieps as a lesbian mother.
Parisian lawyer Clémence separates from her husband Laurent after 20 years in order to reinvent herself. For her, this includes coming out as a lesbian. Their seven-year-old son Paul is increasingly caught up in the conflict between the two parents. Her ex-partner seeks custody and tries to influence the boy. As the family dynamics come to a head, Clémence tries not to lose emotional closeness to her child. A two-hour balan- ce act between self-discovery and inner break-up. An extremely powerful story about the struggle to be a mother and sexual freedom as a woman.
The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May and was nominated for the Queer Palm.
