Lucia Tallová. Deutsche Bank "Artist of the Year" 2026

Deutsche Bank honors Lucia Tallová as "Artist of the Year" 2026. Born in Bratislava in 1985, Tallová completed her studies at the local art academy and achieved international fame in 2022 through her participation in the Biennale in Lyon. For her collages, she uses photographs from old books and magazines, sometimes combined with found objects such as furniture fragments and natural materials. At the interface between painting, collage and installation, she develops an impressive visual language. She deals with themes such as ecology, repressed female histories, modernity, loss and utopia. Her award as "Artist of the Year" recognizes the relevance of Tallová's poetic exploration of the fragility of memory in an accelerated, digital present.
An extensive solo presentation of Lucia Tallová's works will be on display at the PalaisPopulaire in Berlin from September 2026.
